About

Aloha! My name is Jade Makua and I am currently an undergraduate student in the dietetics program at UH Manoa! I was born and raised on the island of O’ahu and currently live in Kalihi Valley. My interests include spending time with family and friends, cooking/baking, and just being outside.

I’m interested in nutrition and health because of how relevant it is in all of our lives. Getting proper nutrition and taking care of one’s health isn’t only for those that are sick, it’s for everyone! That’s why I enjoy this field so much! I’m able to take away and learn new things all the time, which can be incorporated into everyday living.

My current career goals would be to get my undergraduate degree, complete a master’s program, and dietetic internship to eventually become a registered dietitian. As of right now, my fields of interest in dietetics include pediatrics and community nutrition. Being that I am still in college, I hope to learn as much as I can so that one day I will be the one to help educate and inspire those that are in need.
