Workplace conflict is defined as the disagreement and tension among individuals or groups within a workplace. When workplace conflict is not addressed there can be numerous negative impacts that arise on an individual and company level. Examples of these negative impacts are decreased productivity, increased stress, and reduced job satisfaction.Workplace conflict is often inevitable due to the fact that there can be differences in communication styles, personality clashes, competition, and role ambiguity. Thus learning how to handle conflict in the work setting is essential.
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will understand the principles of conflict resolution in a workplace, and be able to identify common workplace conflicts and apply effective conflict resolution strategies.
